I read a lot of hard sci-fi when I was a kid. I didn’t really know what the characters were talking about all the time but I knew it was all math and physics and science and stuff and that was all really cool. I’ve gone back and re-read a lot of that stuff as a Grown Up™ and in the intervening years I’ve learned enough about Things™ and read enough Wikipedia articles about niche scientific theory to have a bit more of an idea of what is going on. It turns out designing pedals using obsolete technology charts a similar course. I had a lot of false starts as designing a flanger because there are some tricky problems to solve if you want the real short delay times and a wide sweep and all the wonderful little flanger tricks that make the effect exciting. I learned a little bit of new info with each passing attempt and got some helpful advice from Pedal Friends™ that all culminated in the device in front of you today. Geometry Stacks opens up many little modulation universes that can be delicate and subtle or mechanical and extreme. It allows you to extend spacetime on the fly and then return to a familiar space at the click of a switch. Explore and you will be rewarded. Mind the Enhance control though. It gets loud at extremes.

Level - Sets the volume of the modulated signal mixed into the output

Polarity (toggle) - Sets the polarity of the modulated signal at the mix stage. Down is in phase with the dry signal for classic flanging sounds. Up is out of phase with the dry signal, which is a unique hollow or tubular sounding effect

Velocity - Sets the frequency of the modulation from very slow to very fast.

Width - Sets the range the modulation sweeps from narrow to wide. At maximum, the modulation sweeps the full range of the delay control and the delay control will not have any effect.

Voice - Active shelving treble boost/cut

Enhance - Sets the amount of signal returned to the start of the BBD for regeneration. This control can cause self-oscillation at maximum so be careful!

Delay - Sets the amount of delay the modulation works around. If the Width control is at minimum, this control allows for manual sweep of the flanger effect.

Activate - True bypass soft-click foot switch to turn the effect on and off

Extend - Cascades an additional bucket brigade device into the modulation path for more dramatic flanging effects.
