Everything We Dont Know About The Ocean Floor (V2)

In the 21st century we know more about the surface of the Moon than we know about what’s under Earth’s oceans. Its pretty wild to think about because the Moon is real far away and only a couple people have ever been there. Lots of people have poked around on the ocean floor. There’s STUFF down there. Old stuff. Interesting stuff. Weird stuff. But because we can’t easily penetrate deep water with satellite mapping technology, we only have complete maps of the ocean floor to a resolution of about 5 km. Who knows what’s down there?

The circuit in V2 has been completely overhauled and rebuilt from the ground up to be a wonderfully flexible chorus and pitch modulation device. The updated design adds a new wet/dry mix control, an active tone control on the modulated signal, additive and subtractive mixing, an extra deep mode, and two configurations for switching the second LFO in and out of the control system. Its a lot of stuff. Lets dig into the controls.

Voice - Active treble shelving filter for the modulated signal. Use this to roll off treble for a softer effect or turn all the way up for maximum sparkling presence.

Blend - Wet/dry mix control. Fully CCW is 100% dry and fully CW is 100% wet

Polarity (left toggle) - Selects between additive and subtractive modulation for two different textures

Deep (right toggle) - Extends the delay time for a richer chorus effect with a wider pitch swing

Rate I - Sets the rate of the first LFO

Width I - Sets the width of the first LFO

Rate II - Sets the rate of the second LFO

Width II - Sets the width of the second LFO

Activate - True bypass soft-click footswitch to turn the chorus effect on and off

LFO II - Adds the second LFO for complex, non-linear modulation effects. When the LED is off, only LFO I is active for traditional chorus and vibrato effects. When the LED is on, the two LFOs are blended together. The LFO with the higher width setting will have greater influence on the modulation. Set both widths to similar levels for more dramatic dual LFO effects.

Internal mode switch - A small dip switch on the LFO II footswitch circuit board provides two options for how the LFO II footswitch affects the modulation. In Preset mode (I/II), the LFO II footswitch selects between the two LFOs as different presets. In Add mode (Add II), the LFO II footswitch adds the second LFO to the mix and both LFOs work together. Add mode is the configuration from the V1 units.
